CGK is a steel fabrication and machine shop in Antofagasta with two plants of its own, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certification and more than 10,700 projects delivered to large-scale mining. We scan, calculate, fabricate, line and repair under one roof.
At CGK we cover the full cycle of a metal component: we scan it on site, calculate it, build it in Antofagasta, line it and repair it when it wears out.
We are a machine shop, but not only that. We have our own engineering office, with a Trimble X7 laser scanner and FEA analysis, so the drawing that reaches the shop floor is already verified. That way the piece fits first time and there are no surprises at installation.
The La Chimba plant houses the machine shop and machining, the RWL lining shops and the boilermaking hall. The La Negra site takes the heavy fabrication: tanks, large-diameter ducting and structures that ship straight to the mine.
We work with qualified welding, dimensional control and non-destructive testing as standard. Every delivery leaves with its quality dossier, and anything that will carry load is certified with a real load test before it leaves the yard.
Four work fronts and one point of accountability. What comes in as plate, bar or a worn component goes out as equipment ready for the mine.

La Chimba, in the Industrial District, is the head office. La Negra is the heavy fabrication site, in the same industrial sector that supplies Escondida, Spence and Centinela.
